Medical Malpractice :: Anesthesia Errors

ANESTHESIA ERRORS - Experienced Anesthesia Injury Attorneys Make a Difference.

Most people over the course of their lifetime will undergo treatment or an operation that requires anesthesia.  Usually anesthesia causes nothing more than drowsiness, but the risks are a lot more serious than people think.  In fact, 1 in every 100,000 patients that undergo anesthesia will die because of some error in adminstering the anesthesia.  The ratio of patients that suffer a life changing injury as a result of an error made by the doctor or their staff, or by defective equipment, is much higher.

Some of these errors include: administering too much anesthesia, administering too little anesthesia, administering the wrong anesthesia, the failure to recognize a drug allergy, the failure to properly train the staff, the failure to respond to or recognize complications, the failure to monitor the patient, and as we mentioned above, defective or malfunctioning equipment.

The complications that can result from these errors are immense.  Anesthesia awareness, which is when you wake up during surgery, and cannot speak or move, but can still feel the pain, is one of the more common complications that result from administering too little anesthesia.  We cannot begin to imagine how devastating it is for someone to have to go through something like that.  Understandibly, this experience can be life changing, leading to post traumatic stress disorder, sleeping problems, and panic or anxiety attacks.

If you or a loved one suffered through anesthesia awareness or have experienced any of the other injuries below, we want to help you get the compensation and results that are deserved.

  • Brain Damage
  • Heart Attack
  • Stroke
  • Coma
  • Nerve Damage

Please fill out the form below for a free evaluation if you believe you or a loved one suffered any of the above complications as a result of an anesthesia error.
